On 4th of June 1989, an incident happened in China in front of the Forbidden City, at the exact place which was at the Tiananmen Square. The protest was about getting democracy for China and it was against the Chinese communist government. Students and intellectuals were mostly involved in that incident. The protest started way 7 weeks before where students from 40 universities started a peace demonstration against all the corruption in the government and requested for democracies. On the 4th June, the government used military forces to make the demonstration to stop. Many were killed and the numbers are until now keep secrets. The Chinese government officially declared that only 200 to 300 died and 7000 were injured. But some says that thousands were dead in that incident.

International intervention should not be taken as the solution to this incident. For me, if other nation or state involves themselves in that problem, more conflict will come. More civilian will die and military will come to war. Never intervene in an internal problem. Other states could only comment and take other alternatives such as economic boycott. From that incident, we can see 2 sides of comment from states all around the world. As for communist-based states, they all show support to Chinese government. States involve such as Vietnam and Singapore. But states such as United States of America and United Kingdom, they both gave Chinese bad comments. Indeed Chinese government had violated human rights for attacking unarmed civilians, but still they as the government should know best to solve their problem. There is no need for international intervention for that was an internal crisis. Other states could only show support to which sides they think was right.

If there were an intervention, there could be another great war because of China is one big power. They are one of veto power in United Nation security councils and whoever when against them could cause mass destruction. More death will come, and destruction of building and economic. This is a violation to a state sovereignty. Anarchy is where no other states are more legitimate then the states itself defines sovereignty. This means that no other state could intervene in the Tiananmen Square incidents because of the Chinese have the only legitimate power to do what ever they want in their country.

As a conclusion, although it seems heartless not to take action on China government, but it was a right thing to do based to international law. If action been taken, it could cause more number of death and things could turn out worse. But there are other ways of showing protest to China government rather using brute force. Economic boycott and comments to the Chinese government should be enough to show that what they did was wrong.

  3. economic sanction x sesuai untuk immediate action ..klau buat mcm tu, harm will be more than the benefit.

  4. tp kita just memboikot.. walaupon berlaku economic sanction, ekonomi china x kn terjejas mana pon, sbb rakyat die ramai. tp lau kita boikot ekonomi die, at least kita boleh bertegas yang kita x setuju dengan cara die...
